Open Door Leicester was created in 1993 by the local Youth Service, the National Children's Home and the YMCA. For the first few years, the voluntary project provided information and guidance for young people, but soon developed into the county's biggest counselling centre for young people. Open Door Leicester now employs 28 paid and voluntary counselling professionals, and works across Leicester and Leicestershire. Open Door Leicester aims to help all young people develop into independent, self-confident adults by offering impartial information and counselling in a confidential setting. |
